Live from Capetown, lessons from Mandela
Just a blessing to come to you from South Africa. Aside from the joy of being with family, and the thrill of being across the world - there's something particularly moving but being in a place that has gone through so much, I moved my leader like Nelson Mandela. Sharing some quick thoughts today.

Broadcasting live from Cape Town, South Africa. Eat your heart out. Fantastic vacation, amazing family time. It's just getting started here. What you're looking at right behind me, I don't know if you're able to see. Right off on yonder is Robben Island. So, you know, when you come on vacation, it's about spending time with family.
It's about spending time with just nature. It's about getting to know you, getting a break from the normal, and that's all well and good. And we're getting some of that. I saw things that we, we learn about in school, like the, the southern tip of South, of Africa. The Cape of Good Hope and the Cape of Seas, and if you're friends with me on Facebook, I'll probably wind up posting some of these pictures later.
So if you're not, connect with me and I'll be happy to share some of those pictures too, completely amazing experience to just see the, the beautiful violence of the ocean. But getting back to Robben Island, why is Robben Island relevant? It's where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. And you know, there's things you learn about when you, when you watch Nelson Mandela, or when you, when you're growing up and you hear about, everything that he went through.
Imprisoned for 27 years, 27 years. And it's not like he, he didn't murder somebody, he didn't, he didn't. I'd knock off a liquor store. But when he came out, he had lost 27 years of his life, and he still had forgiveness there in his mind and in his heart. And I think there's a lot to be learned from just...
And I'm still, I'll be honest with you, I'm still unpacking a lot of it, too. But, you know, I do a lot of talking about legacy, and I talk about living a life of purpose, and obviously I use financial means and legal means and tax means to make things happen. But, just sitting here waking up in the morning, and the first sight you see is this amazing...
City, but specifically Robben Island and thinking of Mr. Mandela and then thinking of Everything that this country has been gone through From what I understand, there's still almost close to 40% unemployment in Cape Town or in South Africa as a whole. Just seeing what, what everybody's kind of going through right now, it's eye opening.
So I don't have a long tax, legal lesson for you. I don't have a whole lot of things for you that are insightful and things you could put into your practice. But, Just unpacking some of the things that I'm learning from, with, with just what Nelson Mandela has gone through and just seeing my experience with Cape Town, this, this concept of forgiveness, forgiveness for yourself, forgiveness for others, and giving up hope for a better past.
And being able to process what you're going through and actually turn it into something that's impactful. It's, it's one of my biggest takeaways from this vacation. So we've had fun on the ATVs and going to the wineries and just seeing the Cape and climbing up to, the watchtower.
That's all been fantastic. But this concept of what Mr Mandela has gone through so far, that's been my, my. My lasting sort of takeaway. That's been my best souvenir so far. Don't be surprised if you see me again broadcast from here, but until then, stay safe, stay well, and I'll see you back stateside.
